America First Policies Takes “Tax Cuts to Put America First” Tour to the Bluegrass State
America First Policies made its fifth stop on its “Tax Cuts to Put America First” tour yesterday, March 7, in Versailles, Kentucky. The event drew more than 700 Kentuckians to the More Than A Bakery headquarters in Versailles, near Lexington.
The series, “Tax Cuts to Put America First,” features guest speakers discussing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act—signed into law by President Donald J. Trump in December 2017.
Yesterday's event began with a greeting by America First's Chief Strategist Corey R. Lewandowski, and featured a panel with U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY, CD-6); Bill Quigg, president of More Than A Bakery; and Daniel Harrison, partner at Country Boy Brewing. The panel discussed how the tax legislation is affecting Kentucky residents, families, and businesses, and the nation as a whole. The panel was moderated by Ian Boccaccio, principal at Ryan, LLC, a firm that provides federal, state, local, and international tax services.
Governor Matt Bevin introduced Vice President Mike Pence, who addressed the impact of the tax cuts on Kentucky. “About 90 percent of working families are going to see their tax cut reflected in their paycheck before this year is out,” said the Vice President. “And here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, our tax cuts will save the typical family of four nearly $2,100 a year. That’s real money.”
